Request for Proposal (RFP): Lawnmower Shed Roof Replacement Project
The Local Services Board of Melgund invites qualified contractors to submit proposals for the replacement of the roof on the community Lawnmower Shed (Garden Shed). The Board is seeking a qualified contractor to complete the project in a safe, professional, and timely manner. Proposals shall include a fixed price for the complete scope of work described below.
Project Scope
The successful proponent shall replace the existing roof covering on the Lawnmower Shed using materials supplied by the Board.
The work includes preparing the existing roof structure for installation of the new roofing system, including measuring, cutting, and securely installing the supplied wood strapping where required. The contractor shall then measure, cut, fit, and install all supplied steel roofing panels using accepted roofing practices to ensure proper alignment, fastening, and weather resistance.
The contractor shall install all required ridge caps, flashings, trim, and supplied fasteners necessary to complete a durable, weather-resistant roofing system. All work shall be completed in a neat and professional manner consistent with industry standards.
Upon completion of the project, the contractor shall remove all construction debris, discarded roofing materials, packaging, metal off-cuts, and waste from the site. The work area shall be cleaned thoroughly, including a magnetic sweep to recover loose screws, nails, and other metal fasteners.
Materials and Contractor Responsibilities
The Local Services Board will provide all primary construction materials required for the project, including steel roofing panels, wood strapping, roofing fasteners, ridge caps, and associated roofing components.
The successful proponent shall provide all labour, supervision, transportation, tools, ladders, scaffolding, fall-protection equipment, personal protective equipment, and any incidental materials required to complete the work.
Proposal Requirements
Proposals should include:
- A fixed price for the complete project.
- The anticipated project schedule, including estimated start and completion dates.
- A summary of relevant roofing or construction experience.
Proposals will be evaluated on overall value to the Board. Consideration may include proposed pricing, relevant experience, qualifications, project schedule and the proponent’s demonstrated ability to successfully complete the work.
The Local Services Board reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive minor irregularities, to request clarification from proponents, and to accept the proposal considered to be in the best interests of the Board. The Board is not obligated to accept the lowest-priced proposal.
Insurance and Safety
Prior to commencing work, the successful proponent shall either:
(a) provide satisfactory proof of Commercial General Liability Insurance with coverage acceptable to the Local Services Board; or
