Neighbours gathered at the Dyment Recreation Hall to share food, stories, and strengthen local connections.

This month’s community breakfast at the Dyment Recreation Hall was a warm and welcoming gathering that brought neighbours together over good food and great conversation. The hall was filled with the sounds of laughter, sizzling griddles, and people reconnecting across tables. From early morning set-up to the last cup of coffee poured, it was a reminder of how meaningful simple moments of togetherness can be.

Guests enjoyed a hearty spread of hash browns, crispy bacon, fluffy pancakes, and more. The aroma alone was enough to draw people in, but it was the atmosphere that kept them lingering. Families, seniors, youth, and newcomers all shared space and stories, making the breakfast more than just a meal—it was a celebration of community spirit.

Special thanks go to the Local Services Board of Melgund and the community recreation committee for their continued support and organization. A heartfelt thank you as well to Karen and Sara, whose time and care in the kitchen made the morning such a success. Their dedication ensures these gatherings remain welcoming, delicious, and well-loved.

The breakfast is part of an ongoing recreation program focused on strengthening community connection through food and belonging. Each event builds on the last, creating a steady rhythm of gathering, sharing, and supporting one another. In a busy world, mornings like this remind everyone that community is built around tables, conversations, and the simple act of showing up.
