Fireworks Dazzle in Dyment

From the first chord struck by The Birdfolk Buskers to the last spark falling from the sky, Melgund’s pre-Family Day bash was a masterclass in small-town heart and big-time fun.

The night sky over Melgund Township wasn’t the only thing glowing this Sunday. In a brilliant fusion of community spirit and pyrotechnic flair, Dyment played host to a pre-Family Day celebration that set the bar high for the week ahead.

With Monday marking both Family Day in Ontario and the kickoff of National Kindness Week across Canada, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. Neighbors, travelers, and families gathered to transform a cold February evening into a warm display of togetherness.

The day was a sensory feast: the smell of local food, the sound of live music, and a grand finale of fireworks that painted the horizon in vibrant hues. It wasn’t just about the spectacle; it was about the connection.

A Heartfelt Thank You

An event of this scale doesn’t happen by magic. A massive shout-out goes to the Local Services Board of Melgund and the Community Recreation Committee for their tireless planning.
