A few more tools in the shed means more hands-on work can happen when it’s time to get into the garden. There’s plenty to do, and now we’re a little better equipped to do it. Thanks to the Ontario Trillium Foundation Capital Grants program for supporting our community garden and living lab programming.
Shovels, rakes and hoses will help keep the expanded garden and Living Lab growing.
There’s more equipment on hand for the work ahead at the Dyment Recreation Hall and Complex and its community garden expansion. New shovels, rakes and garden hoses will help with the everyday work of planting, maintaining beds and keeping the garden growing through the season.
With the community garden growing, having the right tools makes a difference. From preparing the soil and tending plants to watering beds and keeping the growing areas in good shape, this equipment will help make the work a little easier for everyone pitching in.
These additions are part of ongoing efforts to improve local facilities and support hands-on community projects. The garden and Living Lab bring people together around practical skills, food production and caring for shared spaces, with plenty of work still to do and growing seasons ahead.
This work is supported by the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s Capital Grants Program, the Art Borups Corners Living Lab, Melgund Recreation, Arts and Culture and the Nuclear Waste Management Organization. We’re grateful for their contributions and for the people who will put these new resources to use, helping our community spaces grow into places where people can work together, stay active and get things done.
