As the Deep Geological Repository for Canada’s Used Nuclear Fuel Project is moving into the regulatory process, the Nuclear Waste Management Organization is inviting expressions of interest to volunteer on local working groups.
Working groups will learn about and provide feedback on studies related to community well-being, safety and environmental aspects of the project. Join the conversation and share your insights. Volunteers have until Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, to express their interest.
Volunteers must reside in or near to Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation, Ignace, Dryden, or Melgund Township. Working group sessions will begin in early 2026 and be held on a quarterly basis.
Each working group will have three to five volunteer seats available.
The webpage for the expression of interest is live at www.nwmo.ca/regwg. For more information, you can read the Terms of Reference or contact the NWMO at: RegulatoryFeedback@nwmo.ca.
