Project Description Summaries Now at Dyment Recreation Hall

Good news for our community members! We are pleased to announce that printed copies of the Initial Project Description summary are now available for local viewing right here at the Dyment Recreation Hall.

The information stand at the hall has also been updated with new publications for community members to pick up and take home.

We know that staying informed on major regional projects can be a challenge if you’re dealing with a slow internet connection or don’t have a reliable computer at home to download big documents and files. To make sure everyone has a fair chance to review the details, we’ve set up a dedicated space for you to browse the documents at your own pace.

A big thank you to the Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO) for providing us with these physical copies. Having these on hand is a great resource for our residents to stay engaged without needing to worry about bandwidth or screens.

When to Visit

The Dyment Recreation Hall is open during the following hours:

  • Mondays: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Wednesdays: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Saturdays: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Please contact us if you need support for other times.

Copies also remain available at the municipal offices and public libraries in Sioux Lookout, Ignace, Dryden, and Thunder Bay. For those who prefer the digital version, you can still find the full electronic documents on the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada website.

The Melgund Integrated Nuclear Impact Assessment (MINIA) Project is dedicated to studying environmental, social, and cultural impacts at a local level. Public participation and comments to IAAC ensure that local voices are reflected alongside Indigenous, federal, and provincial input, contributing to responsible, long-term decision-making for the DGR.
