My name is Janet Connor. I work in the horticultural field. My husband & I moved here from the Interior of  B.C. approximately 9.5 years ago.

Why did we choose to live in Dyment ?

To make a long story short. It's a nice area, great people. It's home.

After many years of working in Winnipeg, MB, I retired and moved to Dyment with my wife, Michelle. I grew up in Igance Ontario, however I spent my childhood with family in Dyment. My great-grandparents, grandparents, and father all resided in Dyment. So, when the time came to retire, I couldn't think of a better place to call home, again.

History

Founded in 1898

Founded in 1898, Dyment, Ontario Canada was a  once a booming mining town located on Melgund Lake.

Many may know us by 'Dyment' or possibly even 'Borups Corners' - we are in the Melgund Township, and overseen by the Melgund Local Services Board. We are an unorganized community in the Kenora District of Ontario, Canada. We may be a small community now, however we were once a booming town supported by local Gold Mines; Clark Gold Mines, Tabor Lake Gold Mines and Sakoose Gold Mine.
