Local Services Board of Melgund
The Local Services Board (LSB) of Melgund was established in 2006 under the Northern Services Boards Act to provide essential services and support to the unorganized communities of Dyment and Borups Corners in Northwestern Ontario. The Board plays a vital role in maintaining the well-being of these rural communities, overseeing initiatives such as recreational programs, community facilities, and waste collection services. By coordinating services and fostering local engagement, the LSB ensures that residents have access to the resources and infrastructure necessary to support daily life and community development.
Our Communities
Dyment is a close-knit community with deep roots in Northwestern Ontario’s history. Known for its resilient spirit and strong sense of local identity, Dyment offers residents and visitors a welcoming environment and a range of recreational and cultural opportunities.
Borups Corners, located just a short distance from Dyment, shares a similarly rich heritage and continues to embody the values of collaboration and community care. Together, these communities benefit from the LSB’s commitment to practical services, community programming, and initiatives that strengthen connections, enhance local infrastructure, and support the quality of life for all residents.
